Q: How to play with mods?

To play with mods, you just need to use the Add File button on the launcher and that’ll let you load the mods you wish to play with.

If your game does not start up after loading a mod, that mod may require other mods to be loaded beforehand. It’s also possible that the mod that you’re trying to play is no longer supported for the most recent version of Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch. Make sure you know some info about the mod you’re trying to load!

You can find a list of mods designed for MM8BDM here.

Q: How to use text colors?

To add text colors in a message or name, you need to use a “color code” prefixed with a \\c. So for example, if you wanted to have a red word in a message, you would type "This word is \\cgred" and the “red” in that sentence would be a saturated red color.

To the right is a handy visual for which color codes are associated with which color. Any color code which is longer than one character must be surrounded by brackets when used. For example, “\\c[P5]This sentence is hard to read”.

If you’re attempting to use text colors in a message bind, you’ll need to double up on the back-slash. For example, bind 1 "say \\\\cf$health".
