Domination in MM8BDM is controlled by three things: SECTINFO, MM8BDM-exclusive actors, and ACS scripts. While the underlying systems support up to 26 points on a map, the core standard is to always have 3 points, with one designated as the King of the Hill (KOTH) point. This is done to ensure consistent scoring rates when multiple points are active, as otherwise a fluctuating point count would cause the server host to need to change their point limit from map to map.
The actual mechanics of developing Domination points for MM8BDM are fully automated by UDB scripts, which can be found here. As the underlying engine functionality for the mode relies on SECTINFO, the Domination scripts are bundled with the standard SECTINFO scripts.

As Domination is SECTINFO-based, constructing a point requires you to designate all relevant sectors as “belonging” to that point.
This can be done with the SECTINFO scripts linked above by selecting all the sectors you want to turn into a Domination point, then running the Change Sector Point(s) script. Using that script, you can supply the name of one or more points for that sector to belong to, allowing players to contribute capture progress to a point as long as they are inside one of those sectors.

When choosing a point, you have the option to select an existing one, to create a new one, or to skip setting a point (the latter used for any additional points after the first). When creating a new point, you specify the name of the new point in the next field as shown here.

In this example, we select the three sectors we want to belong to a point named “Red” and name it such in the script. Note that sectors can belong to multiple points; usage for this will be covered later.
Once all of your points are defined, the next step is to run Assemble Domination Point(s) to place down all of the relevant actors automatically and generate the necessary ACS.

This script can be rerun as many times as necessary. For each existing point, you are given the option to recreate its actors, realign only the vertex actors, remove the point actors, or do nothing with them.

Upon completion, the script will additionally produce an ACS block to drop into your map’s scripts file. Be sure to do this, as without this script, Domination will not work properly.
